The vision for the 20th anniversary of PACN is "Living as light". The pastoral team hopes that together with the members of PACN, we will be the light of the world through our faith and behavior, as Jesus commanded his disciples in Matthew 5. We aim to realise this vision through the following church themes over 2 years.
2023 church theme
1. Be illuminated by the Lord and love each other truthfully.（1 John 2:7-11）
We are called to live in the light of God, which is the light of love, so that we can love each other truthfully. We are the testimony of Christ's love in the way we love, care for, and support one another.
2. Walk in the light and fellowship with each other.（1 John 1:7，James 5:16)
We are called to walk in the light, which means faithfully living out the truths that God has taught us in the Bible. At the same time, we are encouraged to fellowship with each other, sharing life's joys and difficulties, and to pray for each other. Through living life together and connecting with each other, we can grow deeper in their faith.
2024 church theme
3. Be children of light, turning from darkness to light (Ephesians 5:8-14)
We as followers of Jesus are described as children of light, who are called to forsake sinful behaviours and thoughts, and turn to the light of Jesus. This transformation is based on the truth and redemption of Christ, who helps us to continue being witnesses of his light in our lives.
4. Arise! Shine! Gives light to all families (1 Peter 2:9, Philippians 2:15-16)
We are called by Jesus to rise up and shine, as we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and God’s special possession. To be faithful as God’s people, we share the gospel of Jesus to others, and bear witness to God's love and truth through our words and deeds.
In conclusion, our church vision of "Living as Light" emphasizes the holy life of Christians, glorifying God by being illuminated by the Lord, loving one another, walking on the path of light, turning from darkness to light, and rising up to shine in the world. Pray that the Holy Spirit will transform us to become his faithful witnesses, to influence the world through our lives, and to lead others to know God's love and salvation.
